Re: Omg

I think what most people are saying when they're "flaming" here, is simply that there's always hype preceding the release of a new system, and many times, that's all it is. Currently, no one has a working PS3, and depending on who you listen to, it might be over a year and a half before we do see one. I'm not trying to be biased here, I'll probably get a PS3 when it comes out. However, no matter what the articles and specifics say about the PS3, it's going to be impossible to say what's better, just based on that, until we see real-world examples.

Asking which system is better is such a subjective question. I own an Xbox 360 now, and love it, but before that, I owned a Dreamcast and Playstation 2. I enjoyed the Dreamcast just as much, if not more, in many situations, than the Playstation 2, despite the PS2's advantage on paper.

 Have ANY of you on here flaming this out actually READ what was written. Did any of you who are saying its going ot be crap actually READ the article. Did any of you SEEEEEE where it was NOT SONY that has said this. I dont' even play games...I could care less, 360, Xbox, Nintendo, hell atari....who cares....READ THE ARTICLE..........PLEASE !!!!!!!!! IT ISN'T BY SONY, and to answer another thing, according to Jeremy Gordon, the Cheif executive of Secret Level a gammaker in San Francisco said, that making games for this system will be much easier than it was for the PS2. If you had READ the article before commenting on it you would have seen that and answers to every other retort you have so far given.

it might help if you actually posted a link to the article. but then, if it's from ibm, what exactly do you expect from the manufacturer? that the processor is in reality difficult to program for? here're some articles on both xenon and cell:
xenon part 1, xenon part 2, cell part 1, cell part 2.

HAHA......no coffee........just agrivation........I hate comments made on an article when the article hasn't even been read yet by those who are commenting on it. Read the article then comment on it.

As I said before I never got into videogames, I was never allowed them as a kid so I always found other ways of entertain myself. I saw this post and thought I would add my or I shoudl say the Forbes articles Two cents. I know that IBM has release prototypes of the Cell Chip to game makers and that was a year ago, and that games are already being made, there have been developer notes, etc, its all in the article. I don't know when its going to be released, etc, I don't really care, I just wanted to add the information that was contained in the article so the author of this thread could make a informed decision, hell I've been doing research on apple computers for almost 2 years and have only now just gotten to the point to where I will buy one. I believe in doing the relevant research before I go and spend my hard earned money. I'm assuming the author of this thread did the same thing, wanted all the evidence first, and then made the decision, after all he did say, try to persuade me to NOT buy it.

I don't have a link for the article, I have the actual article If I had a scanner I would use it, and post them, however I don't. I looked for the article and they (Forbes) want you to pay for it, I am not going to pay for it.......soo......dont' know what to tell ya.

What do you guys think, is xbox worth buying now? Or am I better off buying a PC with a powerful graphics card?

Blimey - blast from the past.

If you want a 360, then just buy one - there a whole lot cheaper then when they were first released.

Halo Reach and Gears Of War 3 on disc.

And Daytona USA is excellent retro racing fun.

Yes. Especially if you get the Slim version, it is much quieter than the older version. I like the online capability of the Xbox 360 and it's a great gaming console.
