And --- pointless, as a refurb would NEVER be allowed to be sold in that condition.
Your initial post, with the question, is 99.9997% impossible (nothing is completely impossible, but the "toilet dweller" is pretty close to that in a refurb, and it is non-sensical to even contemplate that about a refurb.
More likely is the scenario where Apple tests new iPhones by dunking them in the toilet before they put them in the box for shipment.
How do you know, for sure, that Apple does not do that? (Yeah, same answer. :D )

Not refurbs from apple but like ebay and stuff might be

Perhaps you have OCD. A irrational obsession with germs. If not, I don't understand what the issue is? Disinfect the phone once you get it. The guy selling it could have ejaculated on it and and stuck it up his rectum, but it makes no difference. The phone will still work as a phone. Disinfect it if needed, and then use as normal.

Even if you were immuno-comromised, I don't see why you are getting so worked up.

Correct. It is water resistant. But that doesn't mean an iPhone 7 submerged in water will survive. Water resistance is merely an added layer of protection. Search through the iPhone forum and you will see how many iPhone 7's have NOT survived water submersion.

I dropped my 7 plus in my pool last weekend and it was fine. It didn't go super deep as it was on the shelf in the shallow end and it was in a regular case but it is fine so far...zero issues:).
[doublepost=1501394769][/doublepost]Anything is possible. You can wipe your phone down with alcohol if you are worried about it being covered in germs. I do it to my phone everyday...and it has no issues. I have wiped it down long this way since maybe the iPhone 4.
