Is there a keyboard shortcut to switch between audio sources. I'm sure this has happened to you. Itunes on the background, click on a youtube video, and you immediately want the audio focus to be on the browser, not itunes.

I send iTunes content over Airtunes to my external speakers. The youtube content would then not have to compete for my internal speakers. I also have a Universal shortcut for pause via Quicksilver (F8).

True, but I have a MB, and I only have the MB speakers when I'm at a hotspot. From the lack of response so far I guess OSX don't have a similar feature.

Even without AirTunes, you can use Quicksilver to set a System-wide shortcut to pause iTunes, so you don't have to switch into iTunes to pause when Youtube content is playing.

Also, try out Sound Source, free from Rogue Amoeba.
