Sorry. I am finding this forum rather hard work! New to this forum and cannot for the life of me find the dedicated thread for the iPhone 8 plus? Is there one or are all the iPhone's listed in just one thread?

Truly appreciate being pointed in the right direction. Many thanks.

Ryland

everything iPhone will be in this section.

Try to look at this forum from the perspective of a newbie like me. On XDA one has dedicated threads for each Android mobile. This is not XDA, I understand that however why lump every single iPhone made into one thread? Why not have dedicated threads or sub forums for each model? This would surely save an awful lot of searching? Am I missing something?

Thank you for the reply. Best wishes,

Ryland

Probably because iPhones aren't as varied as Android phones. If there's something specific about the iPhone 8 which you would like to discuss, start a thread for it.

Because that would make it harder to fight about which model is best.

I like your answer. Thanks for the reply.

Being new to Apple forums I guess its going to take me a while getting around the way things are done here. Same with the actual mobile. I do like my iPhone 8+ I also like my Note 8, both very nice flagships and worthy of that title in so many ways. I am finding using IOS a total culture shock at present as I am certain an Apple owner would find Android.

I shall press on regardless and hope my suffering iPhone 8+ wont slap me in the face. Different system as chalk and cheese. Am I up to the challenge I ask myself!

Regards,

Ryland

Have you tried starting a new thread lately? You get pummeled into being told to use the search and reminded how many threads have been started about the topic you are posting about. This site should have 3 or 4 threads total.

I've send an email to the editors requesting to break the iPhone forum down the way they did for Mac computing with MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, etc. Unfortunately no reply. I guess Macrumors enjoys all the infighting, insults, and divisiveness on the site.

Sadly no. Many have asked the Mods to separate the X and 8 plus into separate forums, but they seem to be ignoring our requests in this topic. Maybe the more that ask the sooner it will happen.

There used to be no divisiveness in this forum until now that there are two (or three, depending on how you look at the models) new releases from Apple. Up until about two weeks ago, there were healthy discussions about the benefits of the iPhone 8/8+ vs iPhone X which I found helpful as I'm considering an upgrade. However, the discussions have mostly devolved into my choice is better than your choice. Hopefully, things will calm down soon when everyone realizes that the "best" choice is specific to each...

Very odd? I would have thought it beneficial for the mods to have separate threads for each iPhone model? Less work not more and it would certainly benefit the members who are new from wading through numerous posts trying to find information.

A general topic is an absolute must also. I have tried to find a thread where the subject of anti virus is debated and if its needed on the iPhone? search engine came up with all sorts of things but not that?

BTW are there other iPhone forums I may try?

Thanks for the reply,

Ryland

Oh dear...The deadly 'The best' syndrome eh? I can never take such remarks seriously. So subjective yet with human nature being what it is this 'the best' syndrome will continue to flourish. Rather puerile and typically school yard banter.

Never mind. MUCH more important things in life than 'the best'!

I just found myself reading a thread in the 'political' section of this forum? Namely one concerned with the presidency of the USA?! What does that have to do with Apple products and in what way does such a section help build friendly debate on this forum?

Yet oddly all iPhone threads are lumped into one large thread? I am missing something here folks?

I imagine it started as a place to dump conversations that get political and go nowhere, and for comments for news stories that involve politics and tech.

Not following how all iPhone threads are lumped into one large thread...they are all separate threads.

The editors don't generally handle any requests other than tips about rumors - it's the moderators and administrator who deal with forum structure. The Contact Us form would have been the way to send your input if you wanted a timely response, but the point is moot now since it's being discussed in Site and Forum Feedback.

No one is being ignored, all questions about this are being answered.

Hello @goshindoman, welcome to the forum! I see from what you write that the forum structure here is new to you. I suggest you spend some time getting the feel of the place. If you can't find a thread about a specific issue, feel free to start one. If there happens to be an existing thread that you missed, it's a simple matter for us to merge them.

The discussion about separate sections for various versions of iPhones is here. We've already answered that for now, there won't be new sections.

In that case, my apologies for the way I worded that.

I find the layout of MR to be perfect. OP you will get use to the sub sections and learn how to navigate around the site pretty easily and quick.
