external HD's, like the Western Digital ?

i have one for my iMac and it is malfunctioning. i constantly get this message: "unable to get status of BU disk", so i pulled the power cord.

i called WD and their help did not......, HELP !!

it sounds like the disk in the external enclosure is failing. Unless it is under warranty, then I would suggest chucking it. Quite often it is cheeper to buy another drive than it is to send it back in to get fixed.
