An editor where you can add bookmarks like Adobe Acrobat and can view different PDF files in tabs within the same window?

None that I know of which are free. Most apps that can do what you wish are fairly expensive. The best is PDFPen both the standard and Pro versions. In the meantime you can plod along somewhat using Preview and the free Adobe Acrobat reader (which does allow bookmarks).

Are you sure you can use bookmarks on the Acrobat Reader? I was pretty sure it's the paid version where you can add new bookmarks.

I just double checked my copy of the Acrobat Reader, and it appears that the only bookmarks are those provided for in the PDF itself. Although it supports bookmarks, they can not be created with just the reader app. You are correct that only the paid version allows you to create bookmarks.

However, Preview does indeed support bookmarks that can be created by the user. Have you tried it with Preview?
