is there a general reason why an app won't launch?

Am trying to launch VIDCUTTER, have tried both #4 and #5.

I think I have the program installed correctly (the icon appears correctly in my Applications folder).

but when I click it nothing happens.

I don't think it's a security issue, I don't get the security error message.

Also I don't think it's an issue of my OS (10.11.6) - if that were the case, I would also get some kind of error message, right?

I don't get any error message at all, the program just doesn't launch.

Does anyone have any feedback or suggestions?
