I've transitioned back to Safari (from Firefox) now that extensions are available since it's so much faster and more stable (for me anyway).

I finding having to click 3 times to select the entire address bar frustrating; is there an extension (or plist "hack") to change this behavior such that one click selects everything?

Thanks

It's an annoying difference but the solution is simple, just click once on the 'favicon' on the far left of the address bar to select everything in one click.

You are brilliant!! Thanks!

I generally use the keyboard and just hit command+L

Another mouse technique that will work with most text boxes, click and hold at the start of the field and drag down and it will select everything from that point to the end. You could also start at the end and drag up to select everything back to the start.

Thanks! And I subsequently realized by clicking on the favicon in the sddressbar which also selects the entire URL.
