I am new to the iPhone and JB scene, was wondering if there's a JB Tweak that allows me to reply to a text form the lockscreen ?

Right now, If I have a text waiting for me on the lockscreen, I need to swipe it, which takes me into the Message app. But is there a quick reply type option, to send a text right away without unlocking the phone ?

This doesn't help you right now, but you might find it useful.

Historically BiteSMS was the fan favorite for quick reply and quick compose messaging. Sadly it might be dead. Their lead developer left the company. The best alternative in my opinion is Messages from Ma Jun. he is currently working on an iOS 8 update. Hopefully it'll come out soon. Where bite was clearly a jailbreak tweak (I mean visually...it looks like a tweak) Messages looks 100% stock. Check out the photos in its Cydia description

Needless to say, I'm patiently and eagerly waiting for the &.x update. I need quick compose and quick reply on my phone! I am not a fan of Apple's implantation at all. :D

Thanks, yeah I know the popular name 'BiteSMS' but sadly it seems to be gone for iOS8 :(

There was another app, can't recall the exact name, something that started with Au in the name, forgot the rest, but it seemed to be a Quick Reply type customization for iMessages.

Scroll down and make sure show previews is enabled.

Thanks, and yes it is enabled.

Then simply swiping right to left on the notification from the lockscreen will provide you with a reply option.

Yep it works, thx. Just did a test text to my Wife, and replied that way. Just want I wanted.

I would still prefer a BiteSMS option, but looks like we gotta wait for another developer to come up with something similar.

Ok, off topic a little;

What about a Calendar event on my lockscreen ? is there a tweak to allow me to show an upcoming calender appointment on the lockscreen ?

This isn't exactly what you're asking for, but you can pull down on the Lock Screen, which shows the "Today" screen (which has upcoming calendar appointments, plus whatever else you have set to display).

Is there a JB tweak like Nova Launcher on Android, it has an option to slide down on the screen anywhere, and that will drag down the notification shade. Would love an option that allows me to pull down the Today or Notifications screen, by tapping or dragging along near the bottom of the screen to activate it coming down, instead of going all the way up to the top to manually drag it down.

This is the single biggest reason why I did NOT jump on the iOS 8 bandwagon.

BiteSMS is easily my most used tweak.

You could simply install Activator and assign an action to Notification Center.

As to your calendar, just make sure you have it set to show in the NC. I have calendar items that go off every Monday and Tuesday and they show in my lockscreen.

I don't know if it matters, but my calendar is synced from Google. I.e., it's not a calendar set on the phone only.

Auki: a new quick reply tweak designed by Surenix
http://www.idownloadblog.com/2014/04/13/auki/

Since BiteSMS seems dead, I found this text app tweak, that seems very similar, and exactly what I want.

But it's not available for iOS 8 yet :(

Auki may be the best quick reply tweak for iOS 7 (Jailbreak)

Man we need this on iOS 8 already

Yup I was gonna respond to your post and tell you it's called Auki. I remember reading some not very nice posts about its stability though. I could be wrong. I never bought it. I had bite :D

That's probably the best viable option if Messages doesn't get updated. I'm still waiting for Ma Jun. I'm a fan of his work. I've never had any issues with his tweaks.

Either way, welcome to jailbreaking! Have fun!

This is great news. The best QR/QR tweak period.

Looks stock and works great.

I looked up 'Messages' on Cydia and I assume it's just not updated / ready for iOS 8 yet ? Meaning don't try to install the version on Cydia now ?

Yes that's correct. It does not work. Don't install it. Instead, in Cydia go to the package description, tap on Change Package Settings at the very top, then turn on Show All Changes. Now whenever it gets updated (assuming he does NOT release an entirely new package which seems to be the new norm for major iOS changes) it will show up in your Changes tab with all the new packages.

Also, if you do not theme or use fonts, go to sources tab, tap on All Sources, tap Edit in the top right corner, and turn off all the switches for all themes and fonts. These take up all the valuable real estate in the changes tab. Now whenever you view the changes tab, you'll only see packages that you turn on the Show All Changes and new tweaks! Makes that tab extremely useful. Most of the new themes in Cydia suck anyways. No reason to waste that section in Cydia!

I totally agree. I only used bite over Messages because of the additional features like delayed sending and scheduled messages. Luckily there's a standalone tweak for delayed sending. Sucks to lose scheduled texts but I'd give that up for a solid QC/QR solution in iOS 8.

There is a tweak called IMN that allows QC/QR. I haven't tried it yet because I've been waiting for an update to BiteSMS or Couria. But sadly neither seems to be coming our way soon.

Anyone have experience with IMN?

I keep going back and froth between LockInfo 8 and IntelliX, both have nice options I like.
