The cord on the Magsafe charger is shooort. Not sure if there's there's a name brand extension cable of some sort? Amazon seems to have some strange brands...

The MagSafe cord is the same length as the lightning-to-USB-C cables that come with iPhones (1m). As for an extension cable, I wouldn't be too concerned about it being an unknown-to-you brand as long as it has lots of positive reviews.

I thought I read that the length of the cable was because of heat or something. In other words, I thought it was necessary by design.

Thanks!

I started suspecting it might be something like that, like USP can transmit 100 W or whatever it is, versus massively less with older usb, and maybe they would have to have the cables be much more expensive or it would be riskier or whatever.

The fact you can find endless extension cables, but for c from a real brand Started making me very suspicious. The closest I could ever see was things that weren’t USB a to USB-C.

“Name brand that I use/trust is Anker. On Amazon”

Thanks, but I couldn’t see that they carry any USB see extension cables? I mean I’d prefer not to use them versus other brands, but at least they are something of an actual namebrand. There wasn’t one single namebrand of any sort that had a USB-C extension cable that I could find.
