I thought I read that somewhere but don't really remember. If so, in my opinion that'd be a huge letdown even if it is retina and faster. I mean that's what the iPod touch/iPhone are basically.

It might even put me off altogether and I'd just pick up a 1st gen refurb instead.

Anything less than a 10" screen is too small. I'm glad to hear that Steve decided against this.

Same. Once I saw and held the Galaxy Tab, it just felt too small to use like a tablet. It really feels just like a giant ass phone.

You make it sound like they'd discontinue the 10" models. Unlike the iPhone, the iPad should be much more versatile.
 
There is also a rumor that it will be bigger. Average the rumors and you will know the size won't change.
