I'd love to not have to move my mouse every time I want to access something in the menubar (file/edit/view/etc) ... Is there something I can do??

Control-F2 (or control-fn-f2 on a portable)

Then navigate with arrow keys; make selection by hitting return.

A more direct way is to use the shortcuts for the menu item you want to use. For instance: cmd-c to copy. The shortcuts are listed next to the menu items that support them (though many apps have shortcuts for non-menu items too).

Thanks for the quick reply - I'm on a 2008 iMac .. cntrl-f2 is not doing anything (nor is the other)

I use Quicksilver and the plugin UI Access. Then I can bring up all menu commands with ctrl + space (or whatever) in the current application I'm using. Works like a faster version of the built-in search in the Help menu.

I use launchbar ... would that have a similar function?
