Hello, I was wondering is there a system scanner built into Mac OsX? How do you guys check for unauthorized files and or errors on your computer? How do you keep your system healthy? Is it necessary to re-load Os X like Windows every now and then like once a year just to keep things fresh and running like new? Or am I still thinking with the Windows mindset?

Yes, Windows is the only OS where you have to do all those things.

How to keep unknown files off the computer: Never do normal work with an Admin account. If your normal account has admin privileges remove them right away. But this also applies to Windows, Linux and any other OS.
