    Hi,

i have a bunch of apps - about 80 - across two accounts (US and UK). If I click on the 'update all' button I get an itunes store error. I'm guessing this is because some of the apps aren't bought from the currently logged in account?

Is there a simple way for me, in itunes, to update all the apps? I don't want to have to individually click update on 70+ apps, especially as you end up being redirected to the itunes store for some reason so you lose your place in itunes.

When you find out let me know. It only started recently, where update all, updates all and not just the currently signed in account.

Same issue here and would love a solution. I've looked all over the internet but haven't found anything.

never mind. Went through one by one and deleted all my US account purchases. There were only a couple of paid apps and I won't miss most of them (redownloaded a couple)

Now they are all from one account its doing an 'update all' ok.

Although I'll be buying the ABC, ibook and iworks apps from the US store so I'll just have to keep on top of updates as they turn up.

Not looking forward to the OS4.0 update though when pretty much all the apps will suddenly have updates

there was a way on the iphone, but i don't know a way on itunes.

not going to say how though and tbh i only used it for navigon and since moved to co-pilot on my own account so it may have been 'fixed' since anyway.

I bought the game Edge in the US store. The game isn't available in the US store anymore, so obviously there are no updates. Every now and then I sign into the Irish store to download some British album or something I can't get in the US one. Whenever I do, I'm prompted to update Edge, since it's still available in the Irish store and has been updated more than it was in the US one. The problem is when I click update, it tells me I don't own the app so I'll have to pay for the update.

Anyway, that was no help but I just thought I'd share. :D

It is actually quite strightforward once you ahve done it a couple of times.

I have about 200 apps, about 50 US and the rest UK.

If I update via my iPhone, I only ever update one at a time, and initially just do the apps from my UK account, followed by the apps from my US account.

Say you have 4 updates, 2 UK and 2 US. Do your two UK updates as normal (individually), and then when you click on the 3rd update (the first of your US updates), your iPhone will flash up an error saying your account is only valid for UK iTunes (or something like that).

Click OK and go back to your updates via your app icon again. The remaining US updates will still be listed there, so go ahead and click on the first again. It should ask you for your password, but this will be your US account password (it's easier if your US and UK account passwords are the same...less confusion), it will then load and install the US update. Go back and update any subsequent US apps and you are sorted.

If you want to do it via iTunes, do it this way. Easier, but obviously you have to be at your PC.

Basically, you simply log into each account and update the apps for each iTunes account by doing the following. Check for and update the apps for your UK iTunes account, then once you have done that, sign out of your UK account, then sign back into your US iTunes account, check for updates again (it should now find all of your US updates), and update again.

Once these are updated, all of your updates will be done (I usually sign back out of my US account and sign back into my UK account, as that is my main account, at this stage) and you can sync your iphone with your iTunes and all of your updates, UK & US, are synced in one go.

Sounds a bit confusing at first, but quite easy once you have done it once or twice.

    Good luck :)
