With more web pages (annoyingly) playing music and sound, I'd really like it if there was a volume control in the browser itself so I could set that application on mute until I actually want to "hear" the page as well as see it.

Does anyone know if such a feature exists in Safari (or Firefox)?

On most sites with sound, there is a volume control on the part thats playing. its not a clean fix, but it works.

Detour lets you change individual applications volume output.

the current (and final) version doesn't work on Intel Macs (or at least it didn't for me). Thanks for the link, though 🙂
