I switched from a 5 to a 6 plus and just recently had my 5 unlocked by AT&T.

I did the backup and restore as the instructions said to. But during the entire process it never popped up saying Your iPhone is unlocked.

Is there any way to check if my iPhone 5 is unlocked? I don't have a Verizon nanosim and don't want to pay $20 for a Tmobile card just to check and not use any data.

Thanks,

I was looking to see if the Carrier tab would appear in the settings app.

I am going on vacation and wanted to make sure I could later buy a local sim card and use my phone in case of an emergency.
