Is there a way to disable remote playback on all other apple devices?

I got an apple tv 3 for the ability to make a tv another monitor in osx mavericks...

However, I seem to have a tiny current issue. I try to do anything with the Apple tv using the remote and my macbook pro, imac, and mac mini all turn on music in itunes.

    It's rather... annoying, heh.

    2 options

    1. if you don't want to use the receiver on your mac at all.

go to system preferences on each mac.
type "remote" into the search box, select "disable remote control".
this will take you to the setting to turn off the receiver on your mac.
(it's under privacy -> general -> advanced, but search gets you there quicker)

    2. if you have a second remote, and want to use one for the aTV and one for a mac. (you could even have a remote for each mac)

you need to pair one remote with your mac, and the other with the aTV.
    instructions - mac - ATV.

unless you turn off or pair the receiver in your mac to a specific remote, it will respond to any apple remote.

Settings-privacy was quicker as I'm very accustomed to the settings menu.. Thank you for the info.
