is there a way to get OLD firmware on iphone 3GS

I would really like to have an "untethered" jailbreak for my phone. Is there a place where I can download and restore my phone using a slighly older firmware so I don't have to worry about all of this?

The thethered jailbreak is the result of the bootrom, not the firmware version. Bootrom can only be flashed at the factory. Sorry.

Only if it were that simple...
 
u can try to buy an older bootrom chip off of ebay and try replacing it. never taken apart my iphone so i wouldnt know how....nor would i tamper with it....just wait till the blackra1n rc4. should have an untethered jailbreak by then. geohot already got an untethered jailbreak on the ipod touch 3g, hopefully the 3gs is right around the corner.
