For e.g. mine is : Manufacturer 00000610 which seems to be Samsung after checking it on Google.

I also have the same manufacturer!! But there is a "problem",i thought Samsung wasn't part of the display makers?

sadly i think its the model that matters isnt it ? like so far everyone seems to have same manufacturer number but different model number.mine is 0000A04E ,what is yours ?

I think I have EDIDs from many Macs with built-in displays (iMac, MacBook Air, MacBook, MacBook Pro). You can find EDIDs in the linuxhw EDID repository.

The /System/Library/Displays/Contents/Resources/Overrides/Icons.plist file will match icons to displays.
The icons are in the Apple vendor folder at /System/Library/Displays/Contents/Resources/Overrides/DisplayVendorID-610
