Just bought a new wireless router with 900mW high power antenna. I decided to test it by running Speedtest.net app on my new ATV4 to test my internet speed. The results are usually 215mbps down and 21mbps up, even at the furthest point of my basement... about 143 feet away, through 8 internal walls. That is more than sufficient for streaming stuff on my ATV4.

I still use my ATV3 on my other TVs. I'm just wondering, is it possible to run speed tests on the old ATV3?

Thanks! :)

Nope, I think the only thing you can do is test the connection via settings (kind of think you just wanted to brag about your speeds :p)

my speed is almost at the slowest tiers with my ISP, so it's nothign to brag about. :( I wish I can afford their highest tier, at 1000mbps, then I can brag about something.

I just want to test and make sure that my new router is capable of delivereing enough speed to where my old ATV3 is located. When I place my Samsung phone next to it and ran speed test, I got only 4mbps. (with the phone screen facing up) However, If I prop the phone up vertically, still next to the ATV3, the speed dramatically increases to above 200mbps. I would like a way to see what the ATV3 is geting and which position is giving it the best speed(vertical or horizontal)
