I have a MacBook Pro that is sometimes won't go to sleep if left on AC power and opened. I have it set to 15 minutes, but it only goes dim. Is there a Terminal command (preferably) or app that will show any applications that may be preventing the laptop from going to sleep?

Or should I simly perform the usual voodoo: reset PMU and repair permissions?

Are there any apps open when it should go to sleep? Can you narrow it down by seeing which app gives you trouble? I still don't think it should make a difference though.

Also, make sure you are distinguishing between putting the computer to sleep, and putting the display to sleep.

If all else fails, you can try wiping the drive, and re-installing OS X.
