Is there a way to show private relay status in the menu bar?

I think private relay is great and I'd like to have it whenever I can.

I have private relay enabled but sometimes it's not available and I get a notification. Often happens when I'm on coffee shop wifi. I don't recall getting a notification when it gets enabled again. Has anyone built a menubar app to show the current status? Is it possible? Am I the only one who feels this pain point?
