Is there a website that has upcoming app previews?

I'm trying to find a website that has sneak peaks at the apps currently being worked on that are NOT GAMES. I really like how toucharcade.com has previews and pre-release info about games, but I would really like to find a site that does that for normal apps. I don't play games on my phone.... unless it's TouchGrind... hehe.

every now and then developers contact me with screenshots and details for yet-to-be released iPhone applications at AppStoreApps.com

but the ratio of review requests to preview requests is like 150:1(I normally get one request per month)

The couple of sites that I look at for previews are slidetoplay.com , razorianfly.com , and toucharcade.com

P.S. Our site doesn't really do previews, but it does do reviews =]

Yep previews are a little tougher to do for apps. With so many developers, it is hard to know who is doing what unless they seek you out. We are going to try and do more previews of regular apps, but currently we are not well known enough I guess to have many devs seeking us out. Hopefully with time though.

With so many apps out there its hard to have a good grasp on everything that is coming out. As for some of the bigger as well as games that the developers contact the site about, I usually browse Touch Arcade to get some ideas of what just came out or what is coming out soon.

So... who's going to create this website that just does previews of apps? Seems like an un-'tapped' market

I write for iPhone Life magazine, and we get to beta test apps before they reach the market.

However, many times they keep the info under embargo... in other words, we can beta test the app and work on a review or an article but can't publish anything until the app is released. There are some cool apps I can't talk about yet, but when those developers give me the go ahead, they should be newsworthy.

When you consider that Apple's approval schedule is, to put it mildly, unpredictable, tipping one's hand too early could give a competitor time to develop a new (or modify an existing) app with similar features. And since an update is easier to get approved, it could actually come out before the new app!

So I think some developers will be hesitant to promote apps that aren't available. It would be a different story if they could control the release date.

Thank you for that explanation. I never thought of it that way. In that case, I guess it's better that we don't know about apps until they come out.
