Is there an app that can compress music volume levels?

    Hi all,

I have an iPhone 3G3 with my entire music collection on it. The thing is that the volume levels tend to vary between albums/songs (e.g. classical v. rock), which requires me at times to adjust the volume accordingly.

Does anyone know of an app that acts as a "compressor" to even out the varying volume levels between albums/songs? Preferably one that does not require me to "jailbreak" my iPhone?

If so, which ones do you recommend and for what reason?

    Thanks.

I use a third party program on my computer that I run my songs through that normalizes my music. It is on the windows side and I haven't really looked for a Mac one yet. This might be an option and then re-enter your songs onto your iPod/iPhone/iPad etc to see if it helps.

    The program was MP3Gain.

Also look under the setting for the iPod. I know there is an EQ and Volume limit.
