I have a number of files (@300) that are in the format dd-mm-yyyy and a separate number at the end for each file of that date.

Is there an app so I can set it to sort as a priority yyyy, then mm, dd , number?

Thanks

Have a look at "a better finder rename", which is pretty good at allowing you to select the attributes you want and then flexibly rename your files accordingly. I know it's not quite what you are looking for, but if you can decide on a way to rename them that makes sense for your purposes, afterwards you can view them much more easily in your regular finder.

I have been using Name Mangler for many years, and it has proven quite valuable tens of two-handfuls of times.

A great piece of soft, and it usually takes--at most--just a few minutes to change one's entire file-naming_scheme.ops ;)

Thank you, I manually sorted my files, as it was for an urgent project, but I have downloaded this app and will give it a try (for future problems, whether of my making or not).
