Is there any way to prevent (weather) widgets from moving around the screen? Every time I start my computer, they move a little. It's been this way ever since 10.5 and now I am running 10.6.2... isn't this something that should have been fixed long ago...?

Well, they can't fix it if it isn't broken. I have the weather widget firmly placed on the screen. It won't move unless I move it. (OS 10.5.8) So, the problem is not systemic, it's local.

Try this:
Close that weather widget.
Open YourUserName/Library/Preferences
Find this file: widget-com.apple.widget.weather.plist
Drag it to the Desktop
Load that widget again

Did it make a new widget-com.apple.widget.weather.plist file?
Is your forecast still "on the run"?

Well, this happens to me too, so it's gotta be a bug with the system/Dashboard/widget itself.

Mine were moving as well. I noticed that happened when the weather animation above the temperatures gets larger (snowing, raining). I pulled my three widgets further apart, since then they're not moving any more. Looks messier, but at least they're not overlapping from time to time.
