I found my 5S on 7.1.2 to be a bit slicker than 8.1.2 on a 6 a lot of the time but the little touches such as lock screen replies negate that fact.

Sorry to open another "iOS 8" thread but I want to update my 5s to iOS 8 and I want to know if is there any lag like scrolling, pulling down the NC, rotating with the keyboard on and so on. I plan to restore and set up as new and I don't care for bugs just if the 5s is a smooth and fast in opening apps like the iOS 7.

You realize the iPhone 6 is only 25% faster than the iPhone 5S? If it runs like butter on the 6, it will run like butter on the 5S.

Yes, there's lag in the weather app (all devices) and sometimes when you tap the auto-scroll, scrolling in a long list of items.

I'm 100% happy with 8.1.2 on my 5s and I'm extremely picky when it comes to lag/choppiness/stuttering.

The only time I really notice anything is when I accidentally invoke spotlight or coverflow (both garbage features that I wish I could ditch without a jailbreak).

I know the initial release of iOS 8 had some weird and annoying lag in places, but the first point release seems to have fixed it completely. Everything from iOS 8.0.1 has been every bit as smooth as iOS 7 in my experience.

5S is immune to iOS 8 slowdown. That's because it's CPU and GPU are double faster than 5/5c.

I do get ocassional lag especially in Weather app. It is Weather app bug or coding problem. But it's 99% same speed as it was on 7.1.2.

You can definitely upgrade.

What are you people talking about? iOS 8 is lagging on iPhone 6... My old iPhone 5 was just as good on iOS 8 as on iOS 7.

I don't think iOS 8 is lagging on the iPhone 6. I think people are picking out bugs that they encounter. Some more frequently than others and it also has to do with the apps you use.
