I know the EDGE network is pretty much turned off everywhere- yet is there a service that will activate the iPhone 2G for phone/texting service? I have one with the original 1.0 iOS (I know it was called something else back then...) and another on 3.1.3 I'd like to have working again as a second, backup line.
Thanks!

Tbh you can probably spend under $100 for a 5/5s/6 than going through the trouble of making the one you have work

I’m not sure on how it works in other countries, but here in the uk you can put in an O2 sim and activate the phone exactly the same as when it was new. It can also still be used as an everyday phone as the 2G network is still running and will be for a good long while.
