Hi all, just wanted to know how to install an old OS on a macbook that doesn't support the OS (without using virtual machine). Let's say if I wanted to run Leopard/Lion/Mavericks on my 2019 Macbook Pro 15,2. I really hope there is some solutions to it as I've been looking for it for years.

I remember someone in another post pointed out that there's no drivers and even when booting the installer partition, there needs to be some changes on the EFI codes? Sorry I have very limited knowledge in coding that's why I reached out.

And I've always been wondering how people managed to Hackintosh or find other solutions to boot new versions like Sierra or even Ventura into iMac G4s and EMacs. Like isn't booting newOS to old machines even harder than doing it vice versa? because older macs are completely unfamilar with the new functions and drivers on the new system?

Thanks!

It is not possible w/out using a virtual machine or emulation.

Not possible. Different CPU architectures.

Maybe this website might help.

MrMacintosh site will definitely help in acquiring installer packages but there is nothing which will make installers for older versions of macOS run on newer hardware which doesn’t support them nor make Intel/ARM versions of macOS run on ancient PPC Macs.

I suppose it would be technically possible to use the same methods as hackintosh to install an older OS on there, even despite the radically different hardware topology (i.e. despite t1/t2 secure enclave). The kernel might possibly need some changes to work. But really the killer hurdle is drivers, you will not be able to get integrated or discrete graphics working because no one outside of Apple has the knowledge on how to create graphics drivers for osx.

The furthest you could realistically push it is 2015 mbp I think, which I believe shares most of the hardware. The only differences between the two are force touch trackpad (feasible to write a multitouch driver shim to translate into a format 10.9 MT framework understands) and faster SSD (which I think should hopefully work without updating drivers)
