Ask your school's technical help desk for the Pop/IMAP or other settings.

Mine said no because their system is not a traditional Pop or IMAP setup, but I think it's just because they think I'll come to them for support if I need assistance.

talk to your school IT people, they probably have a webpage somewhere with all the instructions

In all likelyhood you can. What type of system does your school recommend for email access (IMAP, POP3, Exchange)?

I set mine up to work with mail on my MBP, but it was a long time ago and I don't remember how I did it.

Does this mean it would also work with my iPhone?

If your school supports POP or IMAP then you should be good to go.

A good way to tell is to search your schools site for the words POP or IMAP ... usually you'll come across instructions to setup with a email client. Just use those same settings for the iphones Mail.app ... just add a account in the settings menu and select "Other" then enter the settings you found.

I have my school email on my phone as well.

Luckily we have an exchange server running, so it wasn't too hard to figure out.
