There is no across the board zoom like in windows, but fonts can be changed in each app which is good enough. Here's what changed: Chrome: zoom 125% imessage: changed fonts to 15 email: couldn't figure it out calendar: changed zoom 3x so now fonts are larger stickies: zoomed in 3X so now fonts are larger And that's all I needed.
