I just installed Microsoft Office 2008, and I must say, the new dock icons are hideous (compared to the old ones). What were they thinking? Is there any way I can use the old icons with the new version?

Yes, go to the former version of Office (assuming it's still installed on your computer), select an app, and press Cmd+i, and select the icon in the upper left corner of that window and press Cmd+c to copy it.

Then, go to the new (corresponding) app, following the same procedure, and press Cmd+v once you have the icon selected.

Next time you click on the icon in the dock, it should change.
