Is there any way to NOT wake up a shared Mac on the network through file sharing?

Nevermind, found the setting for this.

Uncheck "Wake for Network Access" in Energy Saver preferences.

    Sorry.

    I have this question also.

I want to wake my iMac using Wake-on-LAN magic packets only.

However, if I turn on 'wake on network access' the iMac will wake for WOL packets AND just about anything else (since the machine is on a busy network).

If I turn off 'wake on network access' then not even the specific WOL packets work.

I'd like to know if the machine can be set to not be woken through file sharing, but still be woken using WOL.

Oh, not sure about that. I don't even know what Wake-on-Lan magic packets mean
