Once again- why would you want to add each contact separately when you could quite easily multi-select them in one swoop?

Why did Apple add copy and paste when you could just retype the text?
Why did Apple add multi-delete/forwarding functions for SMS/email?
Why did Apple allow you to select multiple recipients at all when you could just retype the message?

Answer: because it's intuitive and makes life easier for the user, if only a little bit.

no, its not intuitive. i think the method i mentioned is easier. this way you dont have to scroll through contacts. you can just type 3 letters of the people you want to send it to. the three things you just mentioned have nothing to do with what you are saying and your point is moot

There's no reason apple couldn't do both.

Type abc > phone scrolls to contact in list, click select, then just either scroll or begin typing your next contact.

WITHOUT having to keep on going in and out of your contacts or typing the first letter of their names or whatever. i wish it would just let me choose a bunch of people from the list and then add them.

I'd love that feature also, its a much easier way to get things done. Dont worry about all the Apple apologist in here, they're the same ones that said we didnt need copy/paste, MMS, or text forwarding. If YOU dont need it fine, but it doesnt mean its not something that other people do need or want! Grow up!

It seems like a lot of people think Apple can do no wrong, and as soon as someone suggests a new feature to make life easier we have to be "lazy" or "picky" :\

seriously, i agree. why are these people freaking out? they could just disagree. regardless, it's good to know other people want this feature, hopefully we can get it sometime. it would be nice to be able to do this since the iphone can do almost everything my older crappy phone could do besides this.

I wish... I'm going to be changing my number next week (moving), and it is going to be a real pain in the ass to text all my friends with my new number...

what we need is to be able to send a text to one of our contact groups with one click (same goes for mail). That way I could create a group of contacts who I want to get the message on my computer, and just select that group on my phone. It would be what, one extra line of code in the software (when you select a contact group in messages, add a button that says "message all")? There's no reason this shouldn't be implemented.

at the very least this would be nice.

K, but seriousely, no one likes those mass txts at Christmas or New Years. Sorry, we just don't. It's the exact opposite of a nice gesture.

so u cant spend the time once or twice a yr to send a mass greeting during holidays?

the fact that u feel the need to send 1 cookie cutter msg for the holidays to all your friends should show how much you really "care"

i dont see how it can be so hard to tap in a few letters of a person's name and just tapping and hitting enter when u create a msg.

but i wouldnt know this problem.

I usually take the time to send one msg at a time.

It's more personal.
