is this a beta bug or how its suppose to be?

I've noticed this since custom text and email tones have been available. if your in the middle of a call and get a txt or email, it completly drowns out the phone call till the text is done. i think my avg txt/email tone is 3-4 seconds.

does this happen to anyone else? is it a bug?
