I don't really think it's a defect in a sense that it isn't coupled with it not working or intermittently working.

You have two groups. Ones with a loose, rattling power button, and the other with a solid power button. But it seems from both groups the power buttons work like they are suppose to and there is no issue with its function.

Unless everyone with a loose power button had an issue with it not working, then it's safe to say it's normal. Only a defect when it's function is affected.

How do you know his screen wasn't flickering? All the white box replacements I've gotten (and I've gotten more than a few) have the flickering problem.

Even if he didn't have the flickering screen, how is getting a faulty power button replaced under warranty fraud? Just because he spoke to a prick genius the first time who wouldn't help him?

Because he's flat out saying that he knew the button wouldn't work as an excuse, so he lied and said it was the screen flickering. Lying for monetary gain is fraud. He's not saying that he had screen flickering. He's saying that he used it as an excuse to trick an Apple employee into giving him his way. And furthermore, he recommends that others should do the same thing.

That's fraud. Plain and simple. There was nothing really WRONG with his phone, but he wanted a different one, so he lied to get a replacement.

I you read op's posts, he did have the flickering problem. Maybe he didn't mention it in the first post, but he mentioned it.
And where was the monetary gain? He swapped a defective phone (that he paid for) for another.

Some people need to get off their high horse and realize those of us who got defective phones deserve a flawless replacement.
