Is this a feature or a bug? (Touch Bar MBP)

Hi,

Did search but couldn't find an answer anywhere.

In High Sierra, on my MBP with Touch Bar, when I invoke the brightness or volume slider from the Control Strip, they remain on the Touch Bar until they are dismissed with the 'x' button. In Sierra, it would automatically dismiss after a certain amount of time.

Is this a feature, a bug in High Sierra, or just a bug on my install? Any workarounds or fixes? Prefer the Sierra behaviour.

I don't have High Sierra yet, but on Sierra:

If you press and drag up/down, you won't get an X at all, and the slider will disappear automatically.
If you tap the volume to get the slider, it will remain there until you actually slide up/down,at which point it will disappear.

Are you sure the functionality has changed? (BTW, did they fix the Dashboard Touchbar bug? Pressing it doesn't dismiss the Dashboard in Sierra.)

In Sierra, it seemed to auto-dismiss after about 5 seconds or so. No longer the case in High Sierra, and is a bit annoying.

They fixed the Dashboard button bug though - you win some you lose some!

Just installed High Sierra on my MBP 13" with TB. If I longpress and slide to the left/right on volume and brightness it'll dismiss after 3 secs (no X icon is shown). If I only press the button to toggle the slider the X icon is shown and the slider remains until I press it.

Yes, this is the same behavior as Sierra.

Perhaps it's a bug only some users are seeing.
