Hi All,

Look for a new MacBook, and decided I'd look at the used market.

I found a used, late-2011, 15" MBP for $1500 with the following specs:

  • 2.4GHz Core i7 (4x2, 4GHZ)
  • 750GB HDD (Aufrpeis)
  • 4GB RAM (all original)
  • the larger graphics card with 1024MB VRAM
  • display 1440x900
  • only 44 charge cycles
  • AppleCare until May 5th 2015
  • Original charger and box

I have always been a 13" MBP guy, but the 15" MBP intrigues me.

Is this a good deal or should I keep looking?

Thanks!!

You can do much-much better buying new. Amazon has 15" cMBP @ $1709 (new) and they also have used 15" cMBP.

I wouldnt go for it as a new cmbp is just 200 $ more. Also you would have to upgrade the RAM sooner or later, that translates into another 50 $. 1300 may be a better deal.

Good to know guys. I did compare it to the amazon prices, the only thing that made me think it was an ok deal is that there is 2+ years of Apple care.

I'm also living in Austria at the moment, so it is way way cheaper than ordering a new cMBP from Apple's Austria site. I will, however, be back in the states in July so I could just hold out until then.

Wow thanks for the input guys. I guess I'm getting too used to the high cost of living here in Austria. I'll just wait until I get back to the states.

Not worth it, for $200 more you can get better specs. Else, spent that on a new 13" RMBP. Its awesome!
