Most people overestimate the value of their wares. It's not worth it to negotiate unless they start at a reasonable place.

Actually, if you take account of those discover cash back, bestbuy coupons, you can easily get a top spec latest 5k iMac for less than 1900. Why bother buying a used one for the same price?

Because amazingly enough not everyone lives in the USA?

In any case, I think that price is too high, even without the USA factor.

I have the same Mac, but with the upgraded GPU. No, I would say it's not a good deal. Ha, if you were in the states I'd sell you mine for a bit over half that.

Thanks all. I've decided to save and buy new in January. Plus I can get 20% off with me being a student too. ;)

Hi guys.

My friend is selling the following mac (late 2012) and he wants £1,300 for it, he's going to be giving me the trackpad and keyboard with it too. I'll use this machine for general browsing, playing games such as World of Warcraft, Second Life etc - rendering a few videos too.

Is this a good deal?

apple has 2013 refurbs for less than that! you can get a 2013 refurb with a better graphics card for £1250.
