It's warm at best. If that laptop were sold new, it would cost around $700. It's 3 or 4 year old processor. Also the AC adapter is not the original, it's the old type that frays easily.
Considering the software it comes with, it's a good deal, but most likely pirated software.

5 years even. Mine has a 2.2Ghz processor and it came out late 2007. Still works great though! Not so sure about the price tag on that Craigslist ad, seems a little pricey to me... Try to get it down to $400.

Honestly, I wouldn't buy a machine that old - you can't run Mountain Lion on it and I can bet my ass it will need a new battery ($100+).
If you need a mac that badly but don't have the money for an entry laptop, buy a Mini - they are a tidy machine that you can just hook up to any HDMI TV.

It's probably okay for college, but at that price I would probably get a new windows netbook instead.
