Hello - Looking for help to determine if this is a good deal or not:

http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/imac/specs/imac-core-i5-2.5-21-inch-aluminum-mid-2011-thunderbolt-specs.html

I have a chance of purchasing this iMac - i5 2.5 GHz - 21 inch - from mid 2011 for $850

Currently I have an early 2008 MacBook. We mainly use ours for all of our videos and photos of our kids in iphoto and ivideo.

Also use it for streaming of internet shows because we don't have cable.

Would I pay too much, just right, or great deal?

Thanks for the help!

Hmm, I would say its a bit too much. Try to get them down to about $600-700.

Local size of the Mac community — effecting availability, might have something to do with the price. Here in Hollywood, Macs are everywhere. So I sold my early 2007 iMac 20", intel 2.2 Ghz and loaded with software for $350. Last Saturday. It was listed for only 10 hours on Craigslist.

I wouldn't get anything older than a 2011 model. And would compare prices on eBay. :)
