^^^^If the unit is brand new, the warranty starts when it's registered for the first time. Plus the Air in question has MS Office. Assume it's a perpetual license.

If you've got a Micro Center in your city, they've got the 2018 Air on sale right now for $999. The 128GB model. Definitely worth the extra $200 in my opinion.
