I just bought one. Average for $400 is a 2012: 2.3/8gb/500gb 5400. Standard machines with 4 gigs of ram are just under 400 used on eBay.

That was a typo.

120 SSD plus 500 stock spinner.

Thing is I'm not comfortable opening the 2011 myself and upgrading / adding second drive. I've done it half a dozen times on 2009 and 2006? or 7 (whichever let me upgrade CPU to c2d).

I posted earlier in forum here if any one is willing to upgrade HD SSD in a 2010 2011, no replies.

2010 and 2011 is almost the same 2 hdd/dvd connectors, 1 4pin fan and 1 5pin ir/power connector. 2010 has 3 more 2pin temp sensors. I don't even take out the antenna cable these days when changing drives, just slide out the mobo with the antenna plate.

I saw the ifixit guide, OWC PDF, and a video I stopped watching half way through.

At this time I'm not comfortable doing the upgrades myself, and since this is a pretty steep purchase for me don't want to Bork it. I will try an upgrade down the road when these machines are less expensive.

Same spec machine sold for a little over $300 from the same buyer. I was outbid and away from computer / internet at the time.

Since the seller is pretty quick to response to messages, I feel good about buying from him. Is flexible on different drive arrangements, and even will let me use my drive. I have a 1TB spinner drive which is a little fat, need to research if it will fit in MM.
