So I'm trying to get a .mp4 to a DVD disc. I open iDVD and try to import my movie and this is what i get
    [IMG]
    6 hours 47 minutes!?
    The file is 1.09GB.
I dont know why its saying it will take so long. iDVD just seems to not work for me. Can anyone else recommend a free program to burn mp4's to dvd?

    Thanks

You might try VisualHub if you can find it. The video might be encoded at a variable bit rate rather than a constant bit rate... That could account for the 6 hour timeframe.

You shouldn't be posting that, since you cannot distribute VH legally anymore.

iDVD isn't really meant to be a high speed video converter, it's for compiling DVDs, putting nice little pics and menus on them and some conversion of the videos.

FFmpegX can do the conversion for you. It will still take some time, maybe not 6 hrs, but a 1 gig mp4 is a lot of data to convert to mpeg2.
