They've made a disaster with names, in fact the "New iPad" that you've bought is the iPad 3 that now is out of production and in the stores they're just ending the stocks.

You were looking for the "New iPad with Retina Display" that is the iPad 4, with Lightning connector, FaceTime HD, and the A6X processor, that it's 2x faster than the A5X of the "New iPad" (iPad 3) that you've bought.

I hope that with the next generation they will call it again with a number or will be ridicolous to ask the "New iPad thinner and lighter with Retina display".

The product was called iphone 5. On the apple site it was called iphone 5. At the keynote it was called iphone 5. On the slides it was called iphone 5. The iPad 3rd gen was called "The New iPad". It's quite simple really. I'm referring to the names apple used to refer to the devices. It's obvious they would call a particular device "new" when referring to it in conversation as it was, erm, new.

Third generation iPad's name is: iPad.

Nothing more. Nothing less.
