I just got my XS Leather case in the mail and the moment I took it out of the box it just felt wrong somehow. The leather is not smooth like on my other Apple Leather Cases, it feels more stiff and plastic somehow. When the case is under sunlight I can see lots of "dots" on the leather, I can't remember it being like that with my other cases.

The store is a smaller reseller online and not an official Apple store. I have a black leather case for my XS and it just feels so much more premium somehow. The box looks like something from Apple and could it just be that I am imagining things?

It's probably impossible to tell but could not hurt to hear from others about this.

It looks real to me, but you can only tell so much for pictures and I’m not an expert when it comes to Apple leather cases. I think also as far as it looking different than other cases you’ve had, I’ve seen some Apple cases that look very similar to each other and others that look very different. I don’t think there’s a standard across the board given the fact that it’s leather and leather can be different as far as finish.

Looks real. If it's a fake its a real good fake. A big tell if it's real, is barely being able to read the text and serial number on the microfiber lining. The fake ones tend to be super clear!

Can you post pics of the side buttons and silence switch cutout and maybe a close up of the texture of the leather? Also a close up of the Apple logo and I'll be able to tell you if it's truly real or not.

Thank you for your reply! I decided to send it back and just pay a little bit more for a case from an official Apple reseller. Maybe I was being overly suspicious but the leather really felt weird. At the very least it might just have been aging or something.

Thanks for the info, it's good to know for future purchases. I never got the chance to take pictures before sending it back which is unfortunate because it would be interesting to tell if its fake or not. I honestly think it was real but i would not risk it :)

Cheers to getting the case from a reseller,

I was going to say if it’s from the Apple store and you weren’t satisfied then just honestly tell them the situation and they will replace it for you. 😊

But cheers you got the case
