Is this bad? Urgent!

Pentad you legend! Initially it did the same when I tried single user, just hung on the data screen so I tried resetting the P-Ram and boom. Disk utility says its all green across the board, what could have caused this to happen though?

Ah not all is peaches and cream it seems. Balls.

The disk is still ok according to disk utility but when ever I turn on the MBP I have to hold option and select the HDD or it hangs on a grey screen again. Also the Intsall disk won't run, its fine when you get into OS, you can see the disk, open it up and run the install process and it asks for my password so i can restart and begin installation so I do and it restarts and the machine freezes again, what could the be causing this, is it a faulty drive?

I don't have any back up solutions.

Why not? External 2.5" hard drives are so cheap, the only explanation for not regularly backing up your data, is that you don't care about losing it.

If it were me I would back up and take to be replaced. Obviously there is a serious problem so why take a chance and go through this again. If it's still under warranty then use it, it's free and you should get a new drive to replace the defected one.
