I just bought it and am trying to decide if it’s worth the price. It’s extremely thin and ridiculously hard to get off. I don’t think it would do much more than protect from scratches. My dilemma is deciding if scratch protection is worth $50.

I will say it feels nice and has good grip. It seems well made for what it is.

I have both cases, I like better the EVUTEC, has more grip, the Pitaka is very nice, however, is a bit slippery. the Pitaka works on any car mount magnetic, the EVUTEC only work on their car Mount magnetic.

I have the pitaka and its pretty good..but the reason i have it is it goes hand in hand with the pitaka vent qi mount..wireless charger in the car is where the pitaka kit shines

I agree with above it’s the qi mount wireless charger that makes this case worthwhile.

I’ve had the Pitaka MagCase (black/grey plain color) for just over a week. I love the minimalist, slim style of the case, but it's a major fingerprint magnet. It is very hard to remove. Other than those two negatives, it’s a great case.

I think the minimalist cases are a bit of a waste as all they do is protect against scratches which is something that can be done just as well with a skin for a fraction of the price. The Pitaka is too expensive for what it is IMO. I would go for it if it included the wireless charging at that price.

Picked up a black/gray plain for my 7+ last summer and it is my all time favorite case. I’m a minimalist by nature so this case is the comprise I make as I really prefer my phones naked. It looks and feels awesome and while it does show some prints, a quick wipe on jeans or whatever takes care of them.

Same case arrived for my X last week and I’m a very happy camper again after trying a few others for it that I liked but was not ultimately satisfied with. The bonus this time around is it has the metal plate made into it to work with their magnetic Qi charger which I also love.

If you’re looking for a super thin case with great grip while being okay with the fact that it isn’t going to withstand much abuse, give it a shot.

ETA: OP, there is NO front glass protection with this case, not even a raised lip. It does however come with a glass screen protector. I used the one that came with the 7+ case and it was fine but haven’t put the one that came with the X on yet and may not.

I emailed Pitaka about the fingerprints and this is what they said:

“It’s the nature of the coating on the cover. The twill model is less fingerprint prone than the plain one and other colors even better.”

I just received the Spigen Thin Fit. It’s a similar minimalist, slim style case and not as prone to fingerprints (has a special coating, but still smudges). It doesn’t have the premium feel and look compared of the Pitaka. I'm going to stick with my Pitaka black/gray plain or maybe try the twill one.

Okay good to know. My Pad and Quill Woodline case has no front lip either so that would be the same. I’ll just stick to this wooden case for looks and maybe try out the Saddle Brown Apple leather case.

Hi Chinoo, this is Sarah from PITAKA.
Our case is covered with a special coating and it's built with 3D grip so that it could offer a nice texture. It has more grip than most cases out there. Anyway, people's feelings for the grip and texture may differ. If you do think the case is unusually slippery, please email at aftersales@ipitaka.com for help. Thank you.

Like the look of this. Similar to Moncarbone, which has always worked well for me. Love the minimalist case for the 8 Plus.

I have the iPitaka. I personally don't like the look of the carbon fiber (same as evutec) but the magnetic feature works very well.

I had the black/grey plain model and exchanged it for the black/grey twill model. I really like the look of the carbon fiber pattern on the twill model.

Thank you for giving our case another try.
The twill one is more fingerprint proof.
Could you please DM me and let me know your order number if possible?

The coating on all of them is prone to fingerprints, but yes, the twill one is more fingerprint proof. It also camouflages fingerprints better.

This is by far my favorite minimalist, slim style case.

I'm actually glad he did. I was looking for a comparison of plain and twill.
