I think it's cool that he was willing to wait in line. Would have been cooler if he had declined the invitation, but if you were waiting in line and someone invited you to the front, what would you do?

Pretty lame for everyone else, but don't pretend that if an Apple employee came up to you and wanted to escort you inside ahead of all those plebs you wouldn't go along happily!

Props for waiting in line like everyone else. If an Apple store guy came to get me, I'd be all, "Heck yeah!" myself.

Some Miami Police tried to skip the entire line at the Aventura Mall today... was hilarious to see the Apple guy managing the line reject him and tell him he had to get in line with everyone else.

Got to give him props for getting in line w/ everyone else. I'm sure he could have just had his people make a call and had one delivered to him if he really wanted. And as far as Apple giving him the white glove treatment, why not. They're just giving a high profile customer some good PR treatment if you ask me.

I don't blame him for accepting the invitation. I blame the Apple employees for offering it.

I agree with most of the posters, if an Apple store employee came to us and asked us if we wanted to skip the line we'd all accept.

Also, Apple does do what they want and one of th previous posters was right about that.

Well, maybe they didn't make the call. Maybe he knows someone high up or someone high up was told and they made the call. Who knows.

Miami cops are corrupt d-bags. Would have loved to see that.

You mean like the several hundred thousand other people who had one delivered?

With a celebrity in line the security issues and headaches can go way up! I remember working at a movie theater when Steve Perry (yeah, I'm old) came in with friends. We put them up in the balcony to keep the sanity somewhat controllable, then the jerk had to lean over the balcony edge and yell down to people. Almost caused a riot and we had to kick him out of there.

I don't blame them for making the offer and who really wouldn't accept if given the offer?

Can't really hate on that.. it's one of the perks of "making it".

[slight rant]This is just like when employees get all pissed when supervisors/managers get little perks like getting to leave a little early, etc. I never understood all the hate against that. I mean, when employee X "makes it" to manager/supervisor, he/she can do the same thing! So what's the big deal?[/slight rant]

Good for Jason Bateman. I'd certainly accept the offer too..

Actor from arrested development, hancock etc etc. He didn't cut in line, apple asked if he'd like to go in first so he did. I would have done the same
