I found this on craigslist, and I was waiting out for the Santa Rose MBP, but I think this is a better deal. Just looking for some input.

MacBook Pro w/ AppleCare for two more years.
2.16 Core 2 Duo
2 gb apple ram
100 gig hard drive
Glossy Screen
All cables

I would be paying $1500.

Also, where can I check out the serial number before I am about to buy the computer. I was probably going to use coconut identity card. Any suggestions?

Yeah, but tax will make the refurb at least another $110, and it only comes with one year of applecare.

Seems like a pretty sweet deal to me. If you don't need the latest and greatest then this should be just fine. A 2.16 Core 2 Duo with 2gb ram and what I assume to be 256mb X1600 cover you for the next while.

If it's in good condition I'd take it over apple refurbished. Since a) you save taxes b) extra year of warranty

Eh by the time i wrote this you mentioned the above two points, oh well.

And oh btw i just sold my old macbook pro for 1300 Canadian dollars. My mbp specs were:

1.83CD
1gb ram
80gb hd
128mb X1600
No warranty

1500 American=1588 Canadian so for an extra $288 dollars you got 2yrs warranty, 2.16 C2D vs. 1.83CD and all the rest. It's a good deal.
